How do I place bids on the auction items? The Saturday night auction will be a “silent” auction, You will have the opportunity to bid on items throughout the evening. The highest bidder will “win” the items. We will also have a “live” auction (consisting of a few select items) Saturday evening. You will bid against other guests and the highest bidder will again “win” that item. The classroom theme baskets will be auctioned “Chinese” style. Tickets can be purchased throughout the evening at $1 each, 6 for $5, or an arm for $10. Then you place your ticket in the container in front of the item you are trying to win. The winning tickets will be drawn at random at the end of the evening. We will accept cash, check, Visa or MasterCard as payment options.
If I am unable to attend the auction on April 17, 2010 can I still participate in the event? YES! There are many opportunities to get involved before the actual event. You can help create a classroom basket, donate an item or service, be a program ad sponsor, or sponsor a major portion of the auction (donate the bar, entertainment, or food etc.) Please get involved to help nurture our school spirit.
Where will the money go that is raised from the auction? All the money will be put into the school’s Development account, which in turn, goes to benefit the students and faculty of Sacred Heart School. Some of the past areas of need have included new classroom equipment, updating technology and this year we need help in tuition assistance. We are aiming to keep our tuition as stable as possible, making out Catholic school education as affordable as possible!
New this year we will provide a list of Babysitters available free of charge for the evening. Contact the Development Office for contact information. Remember, we have all sorts of items on which to bid. Bidding starts as low as $10.00 on some items. This event is not just for "rich" people, it is for everyone. The mission is to raise money and build community spirit. We invite all to attend! Make it a family night out by inviting grandparents or aunts and uncles.
